The Buffalo River Valley would have made a grate fishing lake. But what a jewel we would have lost. The Buffalo River begins in the Boston Mountains and flows 136 miles where it runs into the White River. With big bluff which rises 500 feet above the river, gives you a peace, such a quiet calm deep in your soul . Five miles from Steel Creek is Hemmed-in-Hollow, a box canyon with a 200-foot waterfall. Wild life along the river range from elk, bob cats, wild turkey, those things that slide on their bellies, bald eagles, to little song birds. The Buffalo is known to have bass including small mouth bass. At the mouth of the Buffalo and the mighty White River there are rainbow, and brown trout. In the spring it can be a fast river but when the lazy days summer arrives, the old river gets lazy too. Camping along the river is allowed. Where you can find fossils in the sand bars. You might meet someone from halfway around the world. (not WWW.*/*/) So if you go to the Buffalo please carry out what you carried in. Well I guess you can tell I think this river is awesome, spectacular cool ! |
